Manager Support

The partnership between a Participant and their Manager throughout leadership training is critical to make the learning stick in a way that has a positive impact on short- and long-term performance and effectiveness. Managers are critical for ensuring that the skills and concepts acquired get applied on the job.

Managers of a participant are encouraged to:

  • Support and facilitate your full engagement by helping you secure the resources you need to manage your day-to-day priorities and workload and release you from those pressures during the program.
  • While running the business is always a priority, avoid, if possible, major travel and/or project work assignments directly before or after each program session.
  • Participate in a Pre-Program Conversation with you (which you will schedule).
  • Complete the 360 feedback on or before the deadline provided in their instruction email.
  • Offer and receive feedback that is balanced and behavior based.
  • Questions Managers could ask:
    • What obstacles are in your way?
    • What successes have you had?
    • What new leadership behavior have you tried? How is it working?
